Quilts in honour of significant people

2015

Shakespeare Quilt

This quilt map references Shakespeare’s travels, both real and imagined. This work is part of a series of quilts made in honour of people who have shaped history in significant ways. Each quilt contains maps and banknotes that feature the person and reference their life's journey, places where they lived , travelled and had a significant influence or impact.

Gandhi Quilt

This quilt is part of the same series as Shakespeare Quilt. Stitched from money that features Gandhi and maps that relate to his life, it is meticulously crafted by hand.

Others in the series include Mandela Quilt and Notes on Nursing (Florence Nightingale).
